Call time: 7am. Nah, changed it to 8am instead.

More island hopping today.

Night ended up meeting new people after some drama.

Caramoan + CWC Trip - July 15-18, 2011 Day 1

Companions: Di and Nic

Flight to Naga - 6am. Our flight was delayed for an hour. A funny experience, the three of us lined up for a different flight time and a different airline. So embarrassing!

Naga

Arrived in Naga around 7:40 in the morning. We took the shuttle to Sabang port hoping to catch the 9am boat.

From Sabang port, it's a 2hr boat ride to Caramoan.

Caramoan

We checked in at Villa Juliana Inn (the pink house). Lunch was prepared already when we came in. We were so hungry, we weren't able to take pictures.

Calaguas - Bagasbas Trip - July 1-3, 2011 Day 2

We left Calaguas with a drunk boatman around 10 in the morning.

We stayed at the Surfers Diners Inn (not so sure if I get this right) but this place is cool and the staff as well. Prices are also affordable. Surf instructors not so bad either. I wish they let us use the fiber boards though.

Lessons learned: Not to get the lady reflexologist, it's torture. To wear the lace with the room key.

Calaguas - Bagasbas Trip - July 1-3, 2011 Day 1

Companions: Mabs and Gracey

In search for better waves, we ditched LU for Bagasbas. We took Philtranco's 9pm bus to Daet. There we planned to go to Calaguas. Among us three, Gracey is the most excited learning we're going to Calaguas. She's gone there and we told her she'll be our point person for this trip. It's about 6-7 hour bus ride to Daet. Good thing Gracey contacted the boatman to the island.

Obstacles

No tent, no lamp/flashlight, no cookware, no utensils, no beddings

Daet

We immediately went to the market to buy food, charcoal etc. We also created a quick menu for Calaguas. We had breakfast at Jollibee Daet then rode a tricycle to the port.

The boat ride costs Php2000 for the three of us and it took us 2 hrs to reach the place.

Calaguas

This island has a long shoreline with powdery white sand. Water's clear.

We arrived Saturday, 10 in the morning. We put our bags in one of the nipa huts then looked for tent rental.

Our rent for the tent costs Php400/overnight. The tent can accommodate 8 pax. There's another tent for rent costing Php300 which can accommodate 2 pax.

The part of the island we stayed in doesn't have cellular phone signal.

We swam, drink, eat, sleep and meet people.

Evening came, there are fireflies and thousands of stars. We also have bonfire and roasted marshmallows.

Anniversary

On July 25, 2011, I will celebrate my 1st year of blogging here in Blogspot. Looking forward to more years!

Samar Surf Saya - June 18 Day 2

Breakfast at the resort. Surveyed the place a little bit and reached Surf Camp. Went back and took a dip at the swimming pool.

Afternoon is for surf session.

Samar Surf Saya - June 17 Day 1

Companions - Grace Capistrano and LU/Manila-based surfers

Day 1 - Flight to Tacloban. Typhoon Egay is on the loose, by the way.

Lunch at Giuseppes' Tacloban.

Duptours' van from Tacloban to Guiuan that took three and a half hours. We left Tacloban four o' clock in the afternoon. It's a bumpy ride with no A/C. Once we reached town, we looked for a ride to bring us to Calicoan. We found one but then the driver's charging us Php250. We thought it's expensive so we haggled but were not successful. We agreed eventually so the tricycle driver took us there.

Checked in at Calicoan Ocean Villas. After dinner, went straight to bed. What a tiring day!

Coron Trip - Day 3, May 29, 2011

Hello, Day 3! This day, I'd say is the highlight of this trip. We're going to Malcapuya and Banana Island!

It's an hour boat ride to the island and the weather's not that good. In fact, I'm scared seeing dark clouds and rain while we're still riding the boat.

I was hoping that the place will be worth the travel. Lo and behold, the place is paradise.

After lunch, we went to our next destination, Banana Island.

We weren't able to go the this island but I took a picture anyway. I even forgot its name.

Last day, May 30 was for buying pasalubong. Thanks Cathy for the other photos. :)

Coron Trip - Day 2, May 28, 2011

It's Island Hopping Day today!

First stop, Kayangan Lake.

Next is Atwayan beach, where we had our lunch.

We then went to Coral Garden and CYC beach for more snorkeling and swimming. Afterwards, we went to Maquinit Hot Springs.

For dinner, we ate at Bistro Coron for one of the yummiest pizzas.

So there's our Day 2 in Coron.

Coron Trip - Day 1, May 27, 2011

Companion: Catherine Seneres

Aboard Air Philippines, we went to Busuanga. It has been "officially" the start of rainy season and we have yet to enjoy summer. Before our vacation has even started, I've been constantly checking Weather Underground and PAGASA websites for updates. Despite of the checks, here comes the rain.

We checked in at Rudy's Place. http://rudysplacelodge.jimdo.com/ Rested an hour or so, then they decided to have early dinner so we'd be invigorated the following day.

We ate at Kawayanan.
